The Minister of Public Works and Housing and Minister of Transport, Eng. Maher Abu Al-Samman, emphasized the important national and economic role played by contractors in Jordan.

He noted that the contracting sector is one of the main pillars of the national economy, contributing to the operation of dozens of related sectors, and affirmed the Ministry’s support for all measures that achieve the ambitions of Jordanian contractors while serving the public interest.

During a meeting in his office today with the Jordanian Contractors Syndicate Council, chaired by Deputy Syndicate President Fouad Al-Duwairi, Abu Al-Samman described the Jordanian Contractors Syndicate as a key strategic partner. He stressed the importance of cooperation and partnership to ensure projects are executed according to technical specifications and agreed timelines, while emphasizing the enforcement of laws and adherence to contract provisions.

The Minister highlighted the need for the continued work of the Supreme Committee tasked with addressing obstacles and challenges, directing that its meetings be held regularly each month. He affirmed that the Ministry will continue to support contracting companies in executing projects within Jordan and in opening markets abroad.

Abu Al-Samman also pointed to the Syndicate’s important role through its participation in committees for contractor classification, licensing, qualification, price adjustments, and inspection committees for reconstruction projects under the National Construction Council.
